Brian Housman, curator of the Stationary Travels blog and Mixcloud channel, has been a key influence for my Planetarium sets for many years. Geophon is the new series for all things post-rock, folk and acoustic. Its main themes are heavier, earthy vibes and a sense of travelling, going on long journeys. “Basalt” brings in several newcomers to the Planetarium roster: Kazakh-British violinist Galya Bisengalieva, Finnish post-rock duo The Gentleman Losers, experienced multi-instrumentalist Tara Jane O’Neil hailing from the US, cinematic ambient producer Ô Lake from France, Montreal-based soundtrack composer Max LL and acoustic guitar artist Tristan Welch from the US.
